Question 2) How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary tasks?
In year 13, we have had to make a music video and develop a band website and CD pack, I have developed these items and have only recently finished them, in this presentation, I will talk about how each product works in their own way:

All of my tasks had to have some sort of theme running through them. For example, the dark colours and font style, which is present in both my ancillary tasks.
For example, as pictured below, my CD and website have a similar colour scheme and work well when side by side, the music video is also on the main page of the website. Here is canva and wix.

For most of the typed out parts, I used the “Cody star” font which looks really nice and works well with a black background as you can see with my CD pack and insert. However, when I first tried using the Cody Star effect, it did not look right on the back cover of my cd case so I had to change the font.

The package works very well to promote the artist, each individual aspect of the products works on its own. The website allows overall services for the artist, for example, on the website, the artist’s products can be purchased here such as his CD, and other products like clothing such as tops with the new album logo on. This clearly advertises and shows that each product is linked so consumers can find the album easily, this links to technological convergence due to the fact that the music video itself can be viewed on the website and or on phones. AS you can see below, this is how my website would look on a mobile phone.
An example would be the 1975 as you can see the similarities between both artists, even while looking at both the websites you can see I definitely got inspiration from them as the colour schemes are very similar and the writing style is the same. Overall, with having a realistic band logo has given it a professional feel and made the overall concept feel more real.
The band merchandise clearly takes the same format and style as the website as it is mostly black and white, this make it very clear there is a running theme between each product. The colour makes it seem like a really dark and depressing album, whereas you see in the music video, it’s actually bright and colourful so that may be classed as binary opposition. Indie music videos come a variety of formats and styles and colours and some are just very strange such as Declan McKenna’s “Humongous” music video as pictured below:
As you can see, this video is downright strange and unusual which in turn adds affect and intrigues people and makes them want to know what’s going on.
My video seems less strange when compared this video as the video has no connection to song or the lyrics at all.
The logo is the artists brand identity as the logo is similar or will be similar in each of his upcoming album which will become his brand identity as it will become better known. As I stated, most of the logo will be present throughout his albums.
The unique selling point of each individual part would as follows: The CD comes with a written message to the fans so they get to keep it forever as a piece of memorabilia and as a bonus for investing their time and money in to him.

Star theory refers to the idea that celebrities are commodities manufactured by institutions. Dyer believes that celebrities are constructed to represent 'real people' experiencing real emotions in order to relate to audiences and sell products such as films or music. An example of this is Marilyn Monroe (the celebrity) who was controlled by film companies (the institution) in order to create an icon and attract audiences to the films they were making and therefore making money for the company.. this works for my video as Jaden is represented as an average, real person with a normal life, for example, Jaden seems really into Brazil and really enjoys learning about and the football they play there, this of course may be fake as the football idea may have been used for the music video to attract even more people to watch the video and share so more people they know see it.
