This is the music video for the song Happy by Pharrell Williams.
This song is unique in many ways such as the fact that there was a 24 hour long version of the song and the fact it plays at the time depending where you are so if you had watched the video at 5 am, it would've played a video at 5 am. The video also starts with Pharrell Williams singing to show that he has put time in the video himself.
Pharrell Williams is also the video 24 times in total as he appears once every hour. Also every scene in which Pharrell is in is a continuation of the previous one. This suggests that this is showing what Pharrell does throughout the shooting the video.
There is no visual sign of lyrics shown throughout the video. There is high-key lighting, open spaces, the road the city shows the liveliness. It creates and type of community due to the montage-esque fast paced video of people being happy.
The use of the same shot creates a sense of equality.
The video also breaks the 4th wall especially in performance pieces. They are seen to be singing to us, the audience.
There is intertexuality within the music video with the "Minions" from the Despicable Me Franchise. The music also features within in the film
