Band website textual analysis

The band website I am going to analyse is Panic at the Disco's. My first impression of the website is it is very simple and easy to use and get around. The main image is a close up of the lead singer Brendon Urie wearing different suits. This has been done because the singer is instantly recognizable if you follow the band.
The word "News" is there to show what section the visitor is currently on and shows any information about the band but mostly the lead singer as he is the most notable member of the band as his looks are well known. This is the next bit of the news page.
This gives some brief information on what members are up to for the fans are hardcore and straight up are really interested in the bands members.
It also shows one of the achievements of the band to show how they are coming on. This also a wide shot of the lead singer. This leads to the female gaze theory as most of the images are focused on Brendon and is recognisable.
The next page is for tours...
This page is used to show when the band is touring and where they will be going. It allows fans to see where they have to be and when. This is for anyone not just hardcore fans, it lets new fans experience them live. The next page shows the bands music and where you can listen to it...
This good as it shows a variety of platforms, some of which are free to use. It also uses the same picture as from the news page as it is a good photo of the lead singer.
Next is the videos tab which takes you straight to the bands YouTube channel...
This allows fans to listen to all their music for free and new comers to hear it for the first time. As you can see, the top banner is another picture of the lead singer. This page has every single song that the band has made during their time formed.
The next tab is the store section...
The top of the page has a wide shot of Brendon Urie which indicates that you may be able to buy some of the clothing or accessories he is wearing. This page is where huge fans of the band can purchase band merchandise. The merchandise is expensive so mostly fans who absolutely love the band purchase it, It can also be purchased whenever the band does a live show or a pop-up tour as they may be able to get it signed.
In conclusion, the website is very simplistic and easy to use. It doesn't take long to find the tab you are looking for.
