Song: Brazil by
Declan McKenna
This song is from the indie genre and has a really nice
opening.
Locations:
Chesterfield e.g was thinking of filming my street for a specific shot but then
cutting to a shot at my house of my TV, then a shot of the school hall where
someone is auditioning to get on TV but then dropping dead as it works with the
lyrics. I could also film a few shots while in the hall of the main actor
singing on a mic which will add to the overall effect to make it seem more
realistic. There are a few problems with this however, one would be the fact I
have to book the hall for a specific time frame to get the correct shots and
make sure everything is done correctly. This may prove tricky as the hall is
often in use. Another problem may be that there could be people walking around
on my road or wherever I film the cars so I may need to check when is best to
film. The school hall would have the perfect mise-en-scene to an interview
scene as it is big and spacious.
How the audience will
react to the song: I don’t know how others may react to the song but I love
the rhythm and flow of the song, especially the opening. It has a nice and
happy approach throughout and has an enjoyable and lovely tone. His voice has a
calming effect in a way, I believe others may see what I am talking about.
Who it will actually
appeal to: I believe people around the age of 17-25 would like the song, I
also believe it may be more appealing to females as they like male singers who
have a distinct voice/ vocal style. They may be in to other bands such as
Catfish and the Bottlemen or maybe The Kooks as the singers all have distinct
voices.
Props: Guitar, drums.
What we will wear: We
will wear casual clothes for most of it but may do a transition in which we may
wear more formal clothing.
I am also going to look up how to edit videos a bit more so
I can make an effective music video that will capture the audience.
Overall effect: The
video will not be fast paced but it could be used as an example of media and
technology as there will
many types of camera shots and different types of editing which will show how
technology has come on. The video will be slow and melodic but will have the
occasional fast approach due to the song speeding up slightly. Bright effects
will be used at the start of the song with the opening starting on guitar,
quick shots could be used here.
